In the cosmetic world, chia seeds have become very popular. Anti-aging ingredient par excellence, chia promotes cell regeneration thanks to its high content of vitamin E. Also particularly rich in omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants, these seeds prevent and reduce the damage caused to cells by free radicals.

Whatever the skin type, this chia seed mask leaves the skin firm, smooth and plumped. Your complexion is dull and looks gray? That's good, this mask provides intense hydration that brings radiance and shine to the face.

Below are detailed recipes for making a chia face mask and natural exfoliator.

Chia seed face mask

You will need:

  • A ripe avocado
  • 5 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 6 drops of lemon juice
  • 3 drops of lavender oil

Preparation:

Start mashing a very ripe avocado, and add the other ingredients. First the chia seeds, then the lavender and finally the lemon juice. Mix until you obtain a homogeneous paste which you will then have to apply on your face by making circular movements. Leave on for about 10 minutes, then rinse off with lukewarm water.

N.B: Avocado is perfectly suited for this mask, since it is a natural anti-aging agent. Its pulp helps to renew collagen, thus promoting the smoothing and rejuvenating effect on the skin. Full of minerals and vitamins (B, C and E), it effectively fights against aging and prevents water retention. For its part, lemon is also a citrus fruit with a thousand virtues: its citric and malic acids will allow the exfoliation of dead cells and trigger cell renewal. Astringent and antioxidant, lemon will also reduce dark circles, restore radiance to the complexion and banish brown spots.

An exfoliant made from Chia seeds

You will need:

  • Half a cup of coconut oil
  • A teaspoon of lemon juice
  • Two tablespoons of chia seeds

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients together and after washing your face with warm water, apply the mixture massaging in circular motions. Leave on for a few minutes and rinse. Repeat this ritual at least two or three times a week for more consistent results. A great anti-aging alternative, both economical and effective to industrial cosmetics.

N.B: Thanks to its high content of saturated fatty acids and its antioxidant properties, coconut oil is a natural ingredient of choice for deeply moisturizing the skin and delaying the appearance of the signs of aging.

The benefits of natural ingredients

All the ingredients used contain natural substances and are suitable for all skin types. Vitamins such as potassium in chia seeds are present in greater quantities than those in oranges or bananas. This is why these seeds are perfectly suitable for making masks and other beauty products such as hair products and skin scrubs. Once mixed in water, they release mucilages (plant substances) which are particularly effective for the preparation of beauty products.
