For some women, having dark or stained underarms is really disabling. Especially in summer when we wear more open and light clothes. Many of them camouflage themselves under loose tops so as not to reveal their unsightly underarms. However, this unsightly problem is not irreparable: there are natural and effective solutions to get rid of these dark spots under the arms.
This phenomenon is quite common. The reasons are various: constant hair removal, overuse of deodorants and antiperspirants, too frequent shaving, severe dehydration or even genetics. Certainly, it is common to find on the Internet recipes based on lemon, hydrogen peroxide or baking soda to clear up imperfections in the armpits, groin, neck and other areas of the body. However, although they are very popular, it is still necessary to be wary of certain remedies. According to experts: "These components alter the pH of the skin, unbalance the skin part and make it sensitive, which can even cause inflammation and, therefore, make the spot worse“.
In other words, before resorting to any treatment, it is better to first clearly determine its origin. Often the body reports skin problems, and the cause of this discomfort can even be a warning sign for diabetes. Prioritizing health is fundamental before thinking about aesthetics. However, when it comes to stains caused by waxing, rubbing, or deodorant, a dermatologist has a reliable, proven recipe that guarantees positive results for anyone who wants to banish them.
To better understand the summer and put your complexes in the closet, here are some homemade tips to lighten your armpits.
During the day
Wash the underarm area well before applying a dab of coconut oil to lock in moisture. Thanks to its antimicrobial properties, it prevents the growth of bacteria that promote bad odors. Then apply milk of magnesia (laxative powder) to help lighten the spots and maintain a pleasant freshness. This milk is a perfect alternative to traditional deodorants: in fact, it neutralizes the carboxylic acids contained in sweat and eliminates the smell of perspiration.
Regarding the areas of the neck and elbows (often plagued by dark spots), as these are body parts very exposed to the sun, the dermatologist recommends using sunscreen instead of milk of magnesia.
Attention: do the allergy test before using the recipe, because each skin has a different effect.
During the night
In the evening, cut half a potato and blend it until it looks like a paste, without adding water. “Potato has an enzyme called catalase, which speeds up chemical reactions and stimulates cell regeneration without altering the pH of the skin, helping to brighten the area,” explains the dermatologist.
Add a tablespoon of virgin, organic coconut oil to help with hydration. Then put a lid well filled with organic cider vinegar. Mix well and wipe off the stains with a cotton ball. Leave on for 30 minutes and apply a vitamin C product of your choice.
After using this mixture, discard it and use another the next evening, as the potato oxidizes quickly.
The cucumber trick
Do you often use it to camouflage dark circles and bags under the eyes? Learn that sliced cucumber is also excellent for the armpits, as its exfoliating and moisturizing properties, as well as its high vitamin E content, allow it to remove dead skin from the area, maintain the pH of the skin and provide good hydration. This will prevent the dryness from returning to darken the armpits.
Here's how to remove armpit stains with cucumber: Cut half a cucumber into thin slices. Leave it in the armpits for an hour, ensuring that it is in constant contact with the skin.
We advise you to apply before bathing. If desired, add a few drops of lemon juice to massage the area before removing the product with water.
